La consonance des eaux

no/mad utopia is pleased to present La consonance des eaux, a sonic and visual performance by Engram Collective [Joanna Andraos + Caroline Tabet] & Jawad Nawfal.

La consonance des eaux is an exploration that reflects the multiple aspects of water - its trajectories, sources, uses, histories and other mythologies. 

Initiated by Engram Collective alongside Jawad Nawfal, together they have created an ensemble, composing a free-form musical partition, combining orality, testimonies, texts, music and video on the theme of water.

About Engram:

Founded in Lebanon in 2003 by artists Joanna Andraos & Caroline Tabet, Engram seeks to produce photographic series as well as installations combining photo (film and digital) and video. Their work around the process of memory and disappearance is recurrent in their projects and are inspired from real or fictional facts that transcribe in image a concept or narrative close to that of a cinemartic sequencing. This approach is often enhanced with sound elements to create a singular audio-visual experience.

About Jawad Nawfal:

Jawad Nawfal is a music composer and sound designer whose work includes live performances and scores for theatre, documentaries and short movies. He has released solo and collaborative albums on music labels Syrphe, Beacon Sound and Ruptured Records.

He also curates and releases music on his own music label VV-VA since 2019, focusing on left field and experimental projects.
