Samer Bou Saleh | Head III, 2025
The Rest captures individuals in a simple yet profound gesture: laying their heads on a table, expressing a deep desire to disconnect and pause from the relentless pace of the world. This act of deliberate withdrawal becomes a way of choosing to forget—of setting aside, even momentarily, the weight of reality. When memories grow too heavy, we instinctively put them aside, choosing to forget. If memories are stored within our heads, then laying the head down becomes symbolic: an act of surrender, of letting go, blurring the fragile boundary between truth and denial, memory and erasure.
