Dalia Baassiri | When The Season Returns XXIX, 2025

The Harvest, (2023 – ongoing)

This series traces a process of collecting and transforming fragile materials—wall fragments, candle wax from Harissa cathedral in Lebanon (a place of pilgrimage for both Christians and Muslims), branches—gathered from Beirut’s damaged urban landscape. Baassiri reshapes these remnants into textured, layered canvases and mixed-media works that explore vulnerability, memory, place, and transformation.

The series was first presented as a solo exhibition in 2024 at Galerie Janine Rubeiz (Beirut, Lebanon), and will be shown again in 2026 in a solo presentation with Galerie Michael Janssen (Berlin, Germany). Works from The Harvest were also featured in 2024 at art fairs including Luxembourg Art Week and Untitled (Miami, USA).

Several pieces have been acquired by private foundations, notably the Dalloul Art Foundation and the Saradar Collection.
