Shifting each time we return to it, memory resonates to me like a shell. I use the shell as a starting object, a sensory vessel carrying sounds, an embryonic body cradling itself, that I have long collected and treasured. Through gum oil printing, the mirrored image transforms into an inkblot, reminiscent of a Rorschach, fragmenting perception and reflecting memory’s fluidity. In this sense, the shell’s body, once a source of shelter, refracts into a multi-layered record of recollection;
