Johanne Allard | Flies Over Ruins (Libya), 2024
Edition 1/3
This piece reflects on the 2011 Libyan conflict, sparked by a UN resolution intended to protect civilians but interpreted by NATO as a call for regime change. Over seven months, NATO forces unleashed over 9,700 strike sorties and thousands of precision-guided bombs across the country, reshaping Libya’s landscape and future.
Through this work, I explore the line between intervention and devastation, bearing witness to the lasting scars of a nation caught in the crossfire of foreign intervention.
