Carel Marso

Carel Marso (b.1994) is a Beirut-based artist working primarily in drawing and painting. Her practice explores perception, stillness, and space through the use of soft pastels, muted color palettes, and emotionally charged forms.

Her work is characterized by a sensitivity to material, tone, and rhythm, inviting slow looking and quiet contemplation. Influenced by both internal emotional states and personal observation, as well as the layered realities of her surroundings, the practice embodies complexity without seeking resolution.

Through an intuitive yet deliberate approach, she develops visual languages that reconsider how time and presence are experienced through the act of looking.
